That is, Brexit has never happened before. It's the European equivalent to South Carolina's secession from the United States during the US Civil War. The first stone thrown in a longer conflict. Now, people will undoubtedly disagree with me here, and that's fine. But let us look at the situation under these filters for a moment...
The British people let it be known that they had every intention of preserving their own nation. The nationalism that spawned Brexit is, of course, completely different from the secession vote that occurred in the SC legislature in the 1860's, but the idea was the same -- that the people controlled the destiny of the sovereign's status within a political union. Now, we all know what happened to SC and the southern states of the Confederacy that sought to form another union in which slavery was legal. To think how many people laid down their lives to go to war over such a diabolical practice as slavery makes me sick to my stomach as I think about it. But it makes me wonder if there is a possibility of the EU trying to enforce membership in the political union under threat of some sort of future military conflict.
That brings me back to my original point -- there are no experts here, because it has never happened. People tend to balk at those outlets branded as "conspiratorial" in nature, such as radio host Alex Jones and his Infowars.com media site. He is one of several who believe wholeheartedly that the EU will end up creating a European superstate, the United States of Europe, or something of the sort. For instance, one story, found at (www.infowars.com/proposed-eu-army-hidden-from-british-voters-until-after-brexit/) is of the mindset that the EU will seek to create a huge militarized police force with the whole of Europe under its jurisdiction. The scary part here is that this is entirely possible and plausible, given the current state of events. Could this be globalism's last ditch effort to crush hopes of future nationalists with ambitions of taking their countries back after Brexit the same way that the United States government declared secession from a "voluntary political union" illegal after the civil war was fought and won?
We have to keep in mind one thing -- Article 50 has not been invoked yet, and the UK is a very powerful player in the European theater. So, as it stands -- the UK is still a full member state of the European Union. Will the globalists decide that it is in their best interests to go ahead and give up all pretenses of their "peaceful" goals for mankind in a military-style power grab focused on making sure that Brexit does happen? Or will they concede defeat in order to allow the people of UK to live in the promoted illusion that their votes actually can actually make a difference?
Remember George Orwell's 1984 (the movie edition), with the constant broadcasting of the perpetual war that is taking place and the "victories" of Oceania always blaring on the telescreens and loudspeakers? It makes one wonder...how much of what we see is really as it appears? How much is created and controlled by those in power in an effort to remain in power? It makes me wonder if those in 1861 -- those minds that propagated for a stronger union -- were happy at the onset of the American Civil War because they knew the end result would be a much stronger central federal government along with considerably weakened member states?
Now, I know that this post borders along the more conspiracy-minded posts about these sorts of topics. I do not apologize for that, as "conspiracies" are known to, many times, end up being true. I believe it is our job to thoroughly examine the evidence behind the happenings in our world and then apply our common sense in order to see the truth between the lies.
So, how does this affect the 2016 election, you may ask? Well, we all know that the rise of nationalism is one of the core components of the Trump campaign, while the Clinton campaign touts the "Stronger Together" message of globalism. Trump's problem is that he seems to be imploding at the moment, but the core message of "Americanism, not globalism" may just be enough for the populace to vote the Clinton's into the history books. The polls seem to suggest that Trump's blunders over the last few weeks, combined with Clinton's post-Convention bounce will lead to a massive defeat of Trumpism. Combined with the mainstream media pushing the lies of Trump being racist and sexist (racism is code word for "not politically correct), the DNC is hoping to install Clinton as the empress. However, the polls in the UK suggested that the Remain camp would stop Brexit from happening. Now, the only way to stop Brexit is by armed conflict with the EU superstate. The point is -- this election is different, so the same ol', same ol' polling mechanisms will not be accurate. Trump has many "closeted supporters," who are embarrassed to admit that they support the man, but will go into the polling booth and choose Trump/Pence without thinking twice.
Personally, I wish there were another choice. I am not terribly excited about Trump, but I absolutely abhor Hillary Clinton. I don't think that Donald Trump is our messiah, but I do believe that Clinton will be our utter downfall. This leaves me with a choice that I do not want to make. I was a Sanders supporter during the primaries, mainly due to his support of higher living wages (although I agree with Trump about minimum wages being a state issue, not federal) and his opposition to the TPP. Then, seeing how the DNC conspired (there's that word again) to destroy his campaign from the inside out, as evidenced by the email scandal, really turned me off to anything that Hillary ever had to offer. Then, to put the icing on the cake, I was disgusted to watch Obama laugh at the idea of a rigged election, as mentioned by Trump, despite the evidence of the emails against Bernie.
Knowing that our politics has sunk so low as to require the presence of polling observers in order to ensure that no shenanigans occur at the polling locations is absolutely terrifying, as it goes to prove the fact that our Republic has sank so low because of our current state of Rule by Corporation.
Okay, well, I have rambled on enough about this. I promise, future posts will not have such a "conspiratorial" tone to them, but I felt that this was somewhat necessary to get out there for the sake of discussion about the topic. Again, on this blog, we put a very high value on respecting each other, so if you disagree with what I have written, I definitely welcome your feedback; but I implore you -- disagree with me in a respectful fashion, and I will treat you with the same respect. This is not about being politically correct, because I could care less about that. It's about the fact that, when we agree and disagree in a manner that respects the other person's status as a HUMAN BEING, we end up with solutions to the problems that face us, instead of a bunch of meaningless name-calling and disrespect. This disclaimer will only be on this post, since it is the beginning post of the blog, but in the future -- I hope that everyone who reads and comments will remember the importance of constructive, mature, adult conversation about problems facing us as a society.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read the opinions of this raving mad lunatic!
